Building homes creates new environments. In the process, some existing environments are altered, often times by improving their appearance and sustainability. Federal laws and regulations intended to protect animals and their environment and vegetation, while well intentioned, often impact the availability of homes for Americans by increasing the cost of homes and reducing the supply of land and materials for homes or both.
